| Set in beautiful private grounds, this charming, 200 year old country house hotel is situated in the village of Torthorwald, four miles from Dumfries on the A709 and eight miles from Lockerbie with easy access to the motorway network.
The Hotel overlooks the ruins of Torthorwald Castle, which was originally owned by Sir David Torthorwald in the 13th Century. Dumfries & Galloway offers much, from beaches at Sandyhills, bike tracks at Ae or Mabie Forest, an Ice Rink, castles at Drumlanrig or Caerlaverock, and ice cream factories at Drumuir or Cream o Galloway. The Family Room consists of a King size bed for the adults and three single beds for the children. It has a large bathroom which has both a barth and a electric shoer within the bath. A selection of Sky TV Channels, including Nickolodeon for the kids, as well as frreview tv stations are available in the room. Bottled water, shortbread and all the other normal little extras are supplied in the room. |
